Which Garden Suits the Way You Live?
Six questions, two minutes, all pictures. Then your garden style, with the gardens I'd design around it.
Lovely Victoria created a beautiful design for our back garden and her recommended team of landscapers brought it to life. We are thrilled with the result! Highly recommended!— Lyn W.

Wild & Natural
You're drawn to movement
Grasses catching the low evening light, seed heads left standing for the birds, a garden that changes from week to week.
What makes it work- Structure under the looseness. A crisp edge, a clipped hedge or a clear path is what stops a naturalistic border looking unkempt.
- Plants in drifts and repeats, never ones and twos, so the eye reads one sweep rather than a collection.
- Grasses that hold their shape into winter, so there's still something to see from the kitchen in January.

Contemporary Calm
You like a garden that feels resolved
Clean lines, a few materials used well, and planting that looks as good in January as in June.
What makes it work- Two or three materials, repeated. Calm comes from what's left out.
- Evergreen structure, clipped yew, so the shape of the garden stays through winter.
- Space left empty on purpose: a plain terrace or a sweep of gravel lets the planting stand out.

Romantic Cottage
You want abundance
Roses on the fence, scent by the door, a path where lavender brushes your ankles.
What makes it work- Crisp bones under the froth. A clear path and a defined edge make abundance look intended.
- A few plants repeated through every border, so it hangs together rather than looking like a plant fair.
- Scent placed where you sit and walk, never lost at the back of a bed.

The Kitchen Garden
You want a garden that feeds you
Herbs by the back door, fruit trained on a sunny wall, salad leaves you can pick in your slippers.
What makes it work- Beds where the sun is. Most vegetables need six hours or more in summer, so the plan starts from where the light falls.
- Raised beds close to the kitchen and at a comfortable height, so picking becomes a habit.
- Productive beds that still look designed in winter: oak, clipped edges, a pergola for beans.
