A water feature in a gravel garden

Project Prairie Garden

The design brief

The client's wish list for the garden

This northwest-facing garden in Worthing was well-established and overgrown. The clients wanted their garden back!

10 years ago they designed it including a secret garden but over the years new structures like an extension, a summerhouse and a shed were added. It was time to make their garden a part of their home again.

The clients had trouble visualising their vision and dream of the finished garden and wanted to avoid costly mistakes by choosing unsuitable materials. That’s why my photorealistic visuals and videos helped them make informed decisions. The clients of this garden have chosen my ‘Design-Only Package’.

The solution was to create a journey through a gravel area with Prairie-style planting and a hidden secret garden area where a swinging bench seat functions as the destination. 2 types of gravel will break the area up and planting pockets will create a courtyard feeling. Aligned with the key views from the house two water features and sculptures were incorporated. The goal for this garden was to join two different areas and make it a part of the client’s home again.
