Bringing the Outdoors to Life After a Stunning Renovation

The family had recently completed a stunning renovation of their new home in Hove, blending contemporary design with timeless character. While the interiors had been masterfully curated, the outdoor spaces remained unfinished — a common challenge when time and energy have gone into the house itself.

Studio Hummingbird was brought on board to create a planting design for the entrance and courtyard garden. As a dynamic, time-pressed family, they were struggling to source suitable plants and visualise how their outdoor spaces could complement the home’s interior.

Inspired by Mediterranean landscapes, Victoria developed a bespoke planting scheme featuring drought-tolerant varieties, architectural forms, and year-round texture — designed to thrive in the sheltered courtyard microclimate with minimal maintenance.
