The design brief

The client's wish list for the garden

Project Ferring is a new development built in January 2023. The clients have moved in after a few months and found themselves confronted with a blank canvas consisting only of a singular field of maple tree and lawn. The owners are ambitious veg gardeners but wanted the rest of the garden, contemporary, coastal, low maintenance and drought-resistant planting. A water feature, a new modern shed, raised veg beds and a patio were also in the client brief.

The clients had trouble of visualising their vision and dream of the finished garden and wanted to avoid costly mistakes by choosing unsuitable material.

The concept video

‘Victoria of ‘Studio Hummingbird’ was recommended by our interior designer, who knows her previous work. We were not disappointed. She provided an in depth consultation to establish our aims, needs, style preferences and budget. She presented multi aspect computer generated plans, drawings and walk through designs with suggestions for plants, water feature and patios. Plus, a detailed quote and project schedule. The whole process was collaborative and she willingly accepted and included several of our suggestions.

She often works with Eddie King , of King Landscaping Ltd. He & his team were a pleasure to work with. Punctual, informative and very professional.
